
Extremadura wines have been the most awarded in the sparkling wine category of the 15th edition of the CINVE 2019 Contest, two Gold CINVE and three Platas, becoming the autonomous community with more prizes within the sparkling category.
Extremadura sparkling wines that have been made with Oros CINVE 2019 are: Vía de la Plata Chardonnay Brut Nature Reserva 2015 and Vía de la Pata Chardonnay Brut Nature 2017, both from Bodegas Vía de la Plata.
As for the Silver CINVE 2019 they have fallen to: Cava Brut Puerta Palma from Bodegas Marcelino Díaz; Vía de la Plata Coupage Brut Nature, 2017 and Vía de la Plata Coupage Brut, 2017, both of Bodegas Vía de la Plata.
For its part, the GRAND CINVE 2019 in the category of sparkling wines, the highest award granted by the prestigious international jury, from 25 countries, has fallen to the Aliança Moscatel 2019 wine of the Nova Aliança Agroindustrial Cooperative (Brazil).
In addition to Extremadura wines, the origin of the other wines that have won awards in this category have been four wines from Catalunya, three from France and two from Castilla – La Mancha.
The winners in each category that have obtained Oros have surpassed a score of between 90 and 100 points in blind tasting, while the Silver have been awarded to those oils whose score was between 85 and 89 points. To get a Great Gold, the oils had to overcome a second tasting among those who had obtained a Gold.
The 2019 CINVE Grand Prix and Grand Gold Mentions are awarded by unanimous decision of the tasting Jury.
In this XV edition of the International Wine and Spirits Contest, wine samples from countries such as Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, France, Italy, Japan, Peru, Portugal, Romania, Switzerland, Tunisia or USA have been presented.
